I assume that you are visiting this website because you are interested in starting your very own marine aquarium yet perhaps you do now know where to start, what all the equipment does, how to care for the aquarium etc.

It is important to appreciate that a marine aquarium cannot be started overnight. This hobby requires research, patience, dedication and various other attributes.

If you are looking for something which will allow you to have a successful marine aquarium overnight then I have bad news for you.....you are NOT going to find it here!

However, this is what you WILL find if you take just a few minutes to read on:

Marine Aquariums - The Beginners Guide

"Discover All The Information You Need To Create Your Very Own Slice Of The Ocean And Have An Aquarium Which Is So Spectacular That Anyone Who Sees It Will Simply Say WOW!"

WOW! is just one of many words which people use when they see a marine aquarium which is successful. Other ones which spring to mind are:

->     They Are Gorgeous!

->     Look At That One!

->     Spectacular!

->     Truly Magnificent!

->     Awesome!

->     How Did You Do That?

All of the sentences in the above list fill you with pride when they are said. They are being said about something which you created, you maintain and is yours. Of all the sentences though the one which has to be the best is 'How Did You Do That?'

Who Are We And Why Should You Listen To Us?

Between John and I we have been keeping marine aquariums for over 40 years. We have been involved in the hobby using the old fashioned techniques from the 'old days' right to the up to date methods which are used nowadays.

Throughout these years a lot has been learnt and many successful aquariums have been maintained of various shapes and sizes.

We both gain great pleasure from helping others and throughout the years we have both helped countless numbers of people. People of all ages and skill levels. We gain great pleasure from this for two reasons - firstly another person has started out in this hobby and secondly the life in their aquarium will be cared for properly.

People Say Marine Aquariums Are Hard To Keep!

Absolutely Not!

There is a myth that marine aquariums are hard to keep and that is what it is  - a myth.

Honestly it is - I'm not just saying that.

Any type of life can be hard to keep if you don't investigate their requirements first.

In the aquarium hobby, just like any other hobby there is a requirement for research to be done prior to making the decision to partake in the hobby.

If you are not prepared to do the research then perhaps you should find another hobby?

I'm Sure You Have Lots Of Questions

I was lucky when I started all those years ago as I had my dad to be able to help me I remember having lots of questions burning in my head.

Questions such as :

->    What does all the equipment do?

->    What equipment do I need?

->    What fish can I keep?

->    I've heard that it is expensive?

->    What is live rock?

->    How do I look after the aquarium?

->    What if something goes wrong?

->    How do I put it all together?

I'm sure that these are the types of questions for which you have been searching for answers.

You Can Do It...

You CAN Have A Successful Marine Aquarium

The good news is that I know that you can find the answers to all your questions, I know that you can learn everything you need and I know that you can have your very own marine aquarium and not just any marine aquarium...

A successful marine aquarium.

An aquarium which is full of healthy vibrant fish, corals looking dazzling as they sway about in the currents and an aquarium which you have not wasted time, energy or money on.

How do I know this?

Well John and I have created a concise step-by-step guide which is effectively a brain dump of everything we know in relation to this hobby.

Everything that we have ever learnt, all the techniques we have used are all included within this guide. Effectively everything we know about this hobby has been included in this guide.

We have spent considerable hours ensuring that this guide is easy to follow, easy to read and most importantly easy to understand so that anyone can benefit from it.

We are very proud of what we have created.

Why?

Well we know that it can help a lot of people - including you.

Thank you so much for your amazing book.

Dear Peter & John Cunningham,

I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of invaluable information and advice you are basically giving away, I had to go out and buy another ream of paper just to print it out!

This is the first time I have ever tried to set up a marine aquarium and I was initially put off by people telling me how difficult it is.

However, after reading your book I discovered that this just isn't the case, especially with all of your experience and information at my disposal.

I am glad to inform you that my new mixed reef aquarium is up and running and I have had no fatalities what so ever. Thank you!

If only you were around when I set up my freshwater tank (the less said about that experience the better).

Once again thank you so much for delivering such a great product and service. I don't think I could have done this without you.

Keep up the good work,

Jon Stringer

But Guess What?

With all of this information you will have your very own marine aquarium up and running in no time at all.

Just as importantly you will not have wasted money on equipment which you do not actually need - the equipment you have will be the equipment you need.

With everything you are about to discover every time you look at your aquarium either on your own or with others you will be able to say to yourself.....

I did that.

Just picture in your mind for a second what it will be like when you have your marine aquarium up and running. Everything will have been chosen by you, you will know what it all does and why it is required.

You will have hours of enjoyment from your new aquarium - watching the fish, looking at the corals, taking care of it etc

When people come round it will be the center of attention in your home, everyone will be astounded by it's beauty. When people see it I can just image what they will say...

'Wow.....that's amazing - did you do all this yourself?'

Or...

'That looks amazing - I wish I could have one!'

Then there will be you - standing there full of pride answering all the questions asked, telling them all about it, what everything does and what all the fish and corals are called - you will be the expert.

Perhaps in the future these people may want their own marine aquarium and will come to you for advice.

There are not enough words to explain my appreciation for your efforts at putting together such a fine resource.

Hi Peter & John!

You've done a wonderful job explaining all the essentials needed to maintain a mini-reef eco-system! You've done so in a very simple, yet not overwhelming approach for the beginner or 'newbie' to fully understand. I especially liked the part in your book where you commented about being open-minded. This hobby is full of individuals who sincerely believe they have the best way of doing things.

However, there are many different ways at maintaining a successful reef tank, so the need for patience is of the utmost importance to succeed in this fascinating hobby.

What I've noticed as some of the biggest mistakes in this hobby, you did not forget to leave out. To name just a few, using the correct water (not using the proper water will introduce phosphates, nitrates and other chemicals and elements that will wreak havoc on your tank). Also, purchasing the proper lights (not using the correct lights for your tank will ultimately begin an untimely yet slow death to your fragile livestock in your tank)!

There are not enough words to explain my appreciation for your efforts at putting together such a fine resource. I have no doubt that other hobbyists will find it to be of great value to them as well. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in getting their 'feet wet' in this awesome hobby!

I look forward to reading more of your material when it becomes available.

Warm regards,

Eric V. Van Der Hope

Review of Marine Aquariums : The Beginners Guide

You would expect plenty of detail from a father and son team with nearly 40 years of experience, but this stuff is just so detailed in every way, it is simply mind blowing.

Clear, precise and professionally typecast, plenty of top quality photographs and clear informative diagrams, this book will allow any beginner with absolutely no previous knowledge of aquarium keeping to build a system from scratch and to appear to be an expert in this fascinating subject.

For those who already know the subject, I know they will learn plenty from this package, which is virtually a reference work of art, an encyclopaedia to refer to whenever, over and over again.

This book is The Absolute Authority in fish keeping, surpassing all expectations for all who read it.
